How Do You Determine the Trade In Price?

After receiving your Trade In Request Form, we search a variety of sources like eBay, Head-Fi, Audiogon, and aggregator tools like hifizero to find the average price that the item is selling for. That price is what we will plan to list the item at. So then to make a small profit and cover all of our expenses like shipping, payment processing fees, and our team's time to take photos, list the items, answer questions, etc...we offer a trade-in price at ~30% lower than the market rate. Our trade in program itself is not really that profitable for us, its main purpose is to offer a convenient way for our customers to offload old/unused gear to help pay for new stuff.
